A fire destroyed the transmitter site for WCML 91.7FM and WCML-TV Channel 6 on Feb. 28, 2024. On Thursday, the foundation for a temporary building to house new broadcast equipment was laid at the transmitter site in Atlanta, Michigan.

Tina Sawyer will begin hosting WCMU's Morning Edition on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. Current host Mike Horace will move into a full-time roll as WCMU's radio Program and Operations Manager.
