WCMU Announces new weekday schedule

Beginning on Monday, October 31, All Things Considered will be starting an hour earlier at 4pm every weekday, and Fresh Air with Terry Gross will be moving to 7pm.

The past several years have presented a growing need for breaking coverage - think back to the early days of COVID or the January 6th insurrection and subsequent committee hearings. The news of the day holds greater consequence for us all, so we want to be sure to maximize the reporting of NPR news and our WCMU news team by starting All Things Considered an hour earlier, at 4pm.

Fresh Air is moving to 7 pm Monday through Friday on our main signal, with additional airings at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on WCMU News & Talk.

We will also be making some changes to the 8pm hour on weekdays. On Mondays, you will continue to hear our "Discovery Block," featuring special reports and documentaries from NPR, APM and PRX. On Tuesdays, you'll hear Reveal at 8pm, and on Wednesday's you'll hear the TED Radio Hour. Throughline moves to Thursdays at 8pm, and Planet Money and How I Built This will be heard on Friday's at 8pm.

These changes will allow WCMU to better present the news of the day, and create a more consistent listening experience during our evening hours.

As always, we welcome your feedback about these changes. You can reach us by emailing radio (at) wcmu.org.
