Some things seem to be common to family gatherings: Food fresh off the grill, music, and time to catch up with your favorite cousins.

 

Now, add food trucks, vivid clothing and hundreds of Native Americans from around the country and you have a Pow Wow.

 

 

The Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Pow Wow was held July 27-30 in Mt Pleasant

 

Elk Richardson is a member of the Haliwa-Saponi tribe in North Carolina. He said Native Americans are happy to share their culture.

A Midland Police Department officer has been placed on paid administrative leave after a shooting.

The officer shot and killed one of two 16-year olds who had been reported to have broken into a vehicle.

Updated 1/25/18: 98.3FM Sault Ste. Marie returned to full power this afternoon, after WCMU engineers installed a new transmitter at our broadcast site on Sugar Island. Our previous transmitter suffered a catostrophic failure on January 2nd.
