Snow Storm

The senior center in the village of Atlanta will be closed for the foreseeable future after heavy amounts of snow accumulated on its roof from last week's blizzard.

Alcona County Undersheriff Keith Meyers speaks with WCMU's Tina Sawyer about the latest conditions in the northeast Michigan county that sustained heavy damage from an ice storm that swept across the region Monday.

Meteorologists are predicting a snow and ice storm to hit much of Michigan Wednesday and Thursday.

Get ready to spend a lot more time shoveling snow over the next few days. The National Weather Service expects some parts of Michigan’s lower peninsula to receive more than 10 inches of snow this week.

Snowfall has already been reported in some areas of Michigan. That means it’s almost time to brave the icy roads, but state road workers say they’re well prepared.
