Michigan union works to attract more women to construction and trades

Operating Engineers Local 324 wants to increase their numbers of women they hire and are making their job sites and training facilities more female friendly.

This chart in a report by the Research Seminar in Quantitative Economics at the University of Michigan shows Michigan is at employment levels not seen since the pandemic. The RSQE's relatively upbeat forecast leaves Michigan about 3.4 percent below its all-time payroll employment peak from the second quarter of 2000.<br/>
