The Michigan Court of Appeals recently reversed a lower court’s decision in the case of Alvin Yoder. Five years ago, Yoder died in an accident on his family's Amish farm in Clare County. In the 2-1 decision, the Court of Appeals argued that previous decisions did not carry enough legal weight to be conclusive and reopens the case for another appeal and the possibility of going to the Michigan Supreme Court. WCMU News Director Amy Robinson spoke with Rick Brewer to help us understand the issues at the heart of this case.

Rick joined WCMU as a general assignment reporter in March 2022.
Amy began working for WCMU in late-2006. She is the local host of All Things Considered, and WCMU's News Director. She is responsible for leading a team of reporters covering stories throughout WCMU's 44 county coverage area.
