Join instructor Deborah Clark to create your own, beautiful Book of the Dead containing two art journals - one highlighting the life you’ve lived and another crafting the next life to come. You’ll receive a list of prompts to fill your journals with images, desires, dreams, and wild, wicked plans for the future!

Unwind with an evening of watercolor painting led by Cheryl Meyer! Bring your favorite wine, a friend, and your creativity for this relaxing Saturday workshop. Participants will learn watercolor techniques while painting a unique still-life composition. Capture the spooky season by learning to paint blacks and dark shadows in watercolor. Instructor Cheryl Meyer will lead students in a paint mixing lesson focused on creating shades, or deep-toned hues. Students will practice their skills by recreating a small painting of a crow in a cemetery for a spooky take on the season.
This workshop will be held from 12-3 pm, Monday, October 20, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant.

This is the second course of four in the Fundamentals of Drawing series with acclaimed artist and instructor Julie Tyslicky. This course will build upon the skills learned in course 1 to further advance your technical art skills. Participants will learn how to utilize tools to sharpen their skills in drawing. You will learn more about observation with site measuring. Students will also learn technical skills in using grids, their many uses as a tool, and how it assists in portrait drawing, as well as one & two-point perspective drawing.
Fundamentals of Drawing 1 is required before taking Fundamentals of Drawing 2.
This 12-week course will be held weekly from 3-5:30 pm, on Monday, September 15-December 1, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant.
This is a recurring 4-week class for students who wish to hone their colored pencil skills further with artist and instructor Julie Tyslicky. Class is dedicated to advanced ideas and rotating projects, as well as critique for serious students building a portfolio and looking to exhibit their work. Students MUST have completed Intro to Colored Pencils with Julie Tyslicky to enroll in this class.
This 4-week course will be held from 6-8 pm on Monday, October 13-Nov 3, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant.

Club Create is a Michigan Arts Access program for adults with disabilities. Club Create provides opportunities for adults with disabilities to have hands-on experiences in the arts provided by professional artists. Club members participate in an art experience at each meeting, as well as have time to socialize with other club members. Club Create of Mid Michigan meets 10-11:30 am on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Caregivers are welcome to participate as well.

Test the waters with oil pastel, a low-mess, approachable medium with instructor Annie Croft. Students will have a chance to experiment with their pastels, practice some drawing techniques, and then select a nature picture of their choice. Annie will lead students through the steps of recreating their image and will assist students with finding the right colors and blending for their individual projects. No experience needed!

Join instructor Cheryl Meyer for an exploration of free painting in watercolor. You’ll experiment with free-form painting and then identify shapes or creatures from what you see in the paint. This two-session class uses watercolor, then pen/marker to create a surreal, dreamlike painting. No experience necessary.
