The festival is a free family friendly event! Live music, pie eating and t-shirt contests, a quilt raffle, and a fire hose spray provide entertainment for the participants and viewers alike. Many skilled artisans line the streets and fill the Village Hall to offer their goods for sale. The highlight of the day is the Leo Porter Memorial Parade, featuring local leaders, sponsors, and various floats. Visitors of all ages and creeds are guaranteed to find something they enjoy.
Art Reach is hosting Artists Battle 2025 from 11 am-1 pm on Saturday, August 2, on Broadway in downtown Mt. Pleasant.
Artists will have two hours to complete a work of art from start to finish. The contest is open to all ages and media. Contestants will be divided into three categories: Youth (12 & under), Teen (13-19), and Adults (20+). This is a juried contest with one winner from each category. Winners will be announced at approximately 1:30 pm.
A cash prize of $750 will be awarded to the Adult Winner. A cash prize of $500 will be awarded to the Teen Winner. A cash prize of $250 will be awarded to the Youth Winner.
The artist must provide all supplies. Artists are expected to bring a table, chair, or tent, if desired. Electricity is not readily available; arrangements should be made by the artist, ahead of time, if electricity is required. Registration fee is $20 for Adults and Teens and $10 for Youth.

Toddlers (and parents!) are invited to join us for Wee Wednesdays! Wee Wednesdays is a bi-monthly program held from 10 to 11 am on the first and third Wednesday of the month. During each session, wee ones will gain art, reading, critical thinking, and tactile development skills. Each session will be a new project created on-site for your little ones to take home and enjoy!

Capture the magic of twilight in watercolors with a dose of Pure Michigan artistry. Led by instructor Cheryl Meyer, this class focuses on painting luminous skies and reflective water surfaces—perfect for those who want to explore the subtle beauty and bold color transitions of sunset scenes on our Great Lakes.
Students will learn watercolor techniques, including wet-on-wet blending, gradient washes, and layering to portray the glow of a setting sun and its shimmering reflection on the lake. Emphasis will be placed on creating mood and atmosphere, understanding color harmony, and working with light. All supplies provided and no experience necessary.
This 2-week course takes place from 2-4:30 pm on Wednesday, July 30 & August 6, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant

Join instructor Tanya Ehrsam in an introductory sewing class, creating a functional zippered pouch. Students will be guided in using sewing machines to practice stitching, learn how to attach a zipper, and make a handy pouch perfect for storing your toiletries or other goodies. Students may bring their fabric of choice or select from the Art Reach fabric stash. All other supplies and patterns will be provided.

Our community festival starts on Friday at 6PM for family night, including fireworks. Saturday begins at 10AM with a full schedule of events, kids inflatables and skate rink, eating contests, food trucks, vendors, parade and nightly entertainment and beer tent. Sunday begins at 11AM and ends at 3PM.

The Chippewa Watershed Conservancy will host August's Kids & Culture from 10 am until noon on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Hiawatha Hills Preserve, 4334 Cedar Ct, in Mt. Pleasant.Participants will take a quick hike down the trail, learn about how protecting land benefits the waterways, meet some of the macroinvertebrates that live in the river, and learn how to help assess the health of rivers and streams.Kids & Culture is a free, family-friendly program on the 2nd Saturday of each month. The programming is focused on bringing cultural opportunities to kids. Each event features hands-on activities, free admission, and the opportunity to learn more about featured art, music, dance, and so much more!Attendees at each Kids & Culture 2025 event will be entered into a monthly drawing for (4) day passes to the Soaring Eagle Waterpark in Mt.
