Flashing lights on warning signs near curves can slow drivers and reduce the odds of a crash during winter weather conditions, says a new study by MSU engineers. Testing took place on M-32 near Gaylord.

AAA conducted a survey about the correlation of drivers in a school zone. Results show that more than 60% of Michiganders regularly drive through school zones or by bus stops during their daily route.

Data from the Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center shows that in 2024 bicycle crashes and deaths rose 20 and 21 percent, while work-zone fatalities also climbed 17 percent.

One bill package stalled in the state Legislature despite a prolonged push from supporters would give undocumented Michigan residents access to driver’s licenses.

Michigan State Police are working with local departments this holiday season to prevent crashes on the roads.
