Lead Poisoning

The Association to Rescue Kritters, or ARK, of St. Helen say many of the birds of prey are testing positive for high lead contamination. Officials say it's most likely from eating deer remains or fish with lead fragments left behind from bullets or fishing lures.

Michael Brewer can be awake only for four hours until his brain shuts down. When the sun is shining too bright, he has to put the special glasses on. But these are only a few of the symptoms of lead poisoning. There are also migraines, memory loss and seizures that Brewer has been experiencing for the past 20 years.⁠

Advocates say universal lead testing law will help identify, phase out lead.
