Shoreline Music Society presents the world premiere of “Contemplating Fire,” an oratorio with music by Midland composer Robert Hart and libretto by Sharon Curcio. The performances are 7:30 p.m. Saturday, October 1, and 3 p.m. Sunday, October 2 at Bullock Creek Auditorium , 1420 Badour Road, in Midland.
The work focuses on 19-year old Joan of Arc, alone in her prison cell, as she reflects on the visions, victories and betrayals that have brought her to face death by burning at the stake.
