Severe thunderstorms projected in central lower peninsula

A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect until 1:45 p.m. in eastern Mecosta and northwestern Montcalm counties, including the following locations: Langston, Sylvester, Coral, Entrican, Six Lakes, Amble, Pierson, Millbrook, Barryton and Altona.

The National Weather Service (NWS) said in a statement to expect wind gusts up to 60 mph and penny size hail and to expect damage to roofs, siding and tree.

NWS has also issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m. Thursday for counties in the central lower peninsula and into the sunrise side. Click here for a complete list of locations under the thunderstorm watch.
