Families with loved ones who have disabilities may face years-long wait times to see a dentist in Michigan. Even longer if they live in rural areas with lengthy drive times.

Tina Sawyer had a chance to speak with Holli Seabury who is the executive director of the non-profit Delta Dental Foundation.

Seabury explained how the Foundation is working to make dental care more accessible by offering dentists extended education to treat people with intellectual disabilities.

Tina Sawyer is the local host of Morning Edition on WCMU. She joined WCMU in November, 2022.
