The state confirmed 51 cases of COVID-19 in Saginaw County. Today, the Saginaw Police Department has reported two detectives have the illness.

The detectives had limited contact with the public and with each other before testing positive, the department said in a press release.

According to the police department, one officer is being treated for severe symptoms at the University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor, after being transferred from a local hospital.

The other has mild symptoms, reported the department.
