This is the final course of the four-part Fundamentals of Drawing series with acclaimed artist and instructor Julie Tyslicky. Throughout this course, students will focus on the importance of developing a series of work. We will be discussing why this is important in your development as an artist. You’ll discover how working in a series can broaden and hone your skills. We will touch on Artists’ Biographies, Artists’ Statements, and the difference between the two. You will be guided on how to enter a juried show. Please note- completion of Drawing 1-3 is required to participate in this course.
This 12-week course will be held from 6-8:30 pm on Wednesdays, September 17-December 3, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant.

Brews & Brushes is the perfect way to unwind, get creative, and enjoy a fun evening out. This monthly acrylic painting class is led by Brenda O’Brien, who provides step-by-step instructions to help you create a beautiful 16x20 masterpiece, no matter your skill level. Bring your favorite beverage, invite a friend, and let your imagination flow! We provide all the supplies you need—just come ready to paint and leave with a finished work of art. Brews & Brushes is a great way to explore your artistic side in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Whimsical Watercolors is a series for young artists to enjoy the charm and freedom of watercolors. Each month, students will be guided step-by-step in creating their version of fun and playful images. Classes are on the third Thursday of each month.

Show you care with handmade holiday creations this season. Instructor Cheryl Meyer will guide you through painting classic holiday imagery to use as beautiful cards for your loved ones. Guidance is provided on using watercolor as a medium to allow students to hone their skills while bringing on the holiday merriment. Beginners and more experienced painters are welcome to join.

Grab a friend and join us for this festive seasonal workshop. Instructor Darlene Ritchie will guide you through creating an evergreen wreath or swag to “spruce” up your door this holiday season. Wreath forms and evergreen branches, along with ribbons, assorted sprays, and dried natural decor will all be provided in this fun workshop for beginners or experienced wreathmakers alike. If you have a favorite ribbon or decorations you would like to incorporate, you are welcome to bring them along.

Teen Open Studio is a relaxed, creative night just for teens—perfect for hanging out, making art, and enjoying some pizza. Whether you're into painting, drawing, or want to try something new, this is a great space to explore your creativity and meet other teen artists. Teen Open Studio runs from 6 to 8 pm on Saturday, November 22, and takes place on the fourth Saturday of every month.
This program is a Teen Advisory Group (TAG) initiative designed to give teens space and support to explore their creativity.

This is the second course of four in the Fundamentals of Drawing series with acclaimed artist and instructor Julie Tyslicky. This course will build upon the skills learned in course 1 to further advance your technical art skills. Participants will learn how to utilize tools to sharpen their skills in drawing. You will learn more about observation with site measuring. Students will also learn technical skills in using grids, their many uses as a tool, and how it assists in portrait drawing, as well as one & two-point perspective drawing.
Fundamentals of Drawing 1 is required before taking Fundamentals of Drawing 2.
This 12-week course will be held weekly from 3-5:30 pm, on Monday, September 15-December 1, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant.
This is a recurring 4-week class for students who wish to hone their colored pencil skills further with artist and instructor Julie Tyslicky. Class is dedicated to advanced ideas and rotating projects, as well as critique for serious students building a portfolio and looking to exhibit their work. Students MUST have completed Intro to Colored Pencils with Julie Tyslicky to enroll in this class.
This 4-week course will be held from 6-8 pm on Monday, November 10-December 1, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant.

Dive into the vibrant world of alcohol inks with instructor Judi Steffke in this beginner-friendly class designed to spark your imagination and ignite your creative spirit! Alcohol inks are a bold, expressive medium known for their fluidity, unpredictability, and stunning, abstract effects. Whether you're an experienced artist or trying something new, this class offers a fun and relaxed environment to explore the magic of inks on non-porous surfaces, such as Yupo paper, ceramic tiles, or glass. This class will offer themed sessions recreating imagery on ceramic tiles, and will be finished with a spray-on topcoat for durability.

This workshop will be held from 11 am-1 pm on Tuesday, November 25, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant.
Join instructor Emily Gunning for a tactile exploration of handbuilding in clay. Over this 6-week course, students will explore various methods of building functional or decorative clay vessels without the need for a pottery wheel. Pinch pots, slab, and coil construction will be covered, as well as various methods of achieving surface texture and form for a solid foundation in pottery construction. Projects will be fired off-site and ready for glazing at the final session. All materials are provided, and no prior experience is required. Just bring your curiosity and willingness to get your hands dirty!
Supply and kiln fees are included in tuition.
