Young artists are invited to hone their drawing skills with instructor Jason Correia in this 8-week skill-building course. Students will sharpen their observational skills while becoming more confident in their drawing abilities. Each class will focus on a still life that all will draw from. Each session will begin with a short demonstration, followed by dedicated drawing time from the still life, during which each student will receive one-on-one feedback. Students will cover gesture drawing, contour drawing, value, and mark-making, giving students a full range of drawing techniques using different media, such as graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, and ink. This course is perfect for setting a solid foundation in drawing techniques that can enhance art skills in other media.
This course will be held weekly from 4-5:30 pm on Thursdays, March 5- April 30 (skipping April 2 for Spring Break), in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at 111 E. Broadway, Mount Pleasant, MI.
Recommended age: 10 and up

Sarah isn't afraid when an unknown intruder breaks into her Chicago apartment. Mitchell is brand new to breaking and entering. Instead of calling the cops, however, Sarah teases him about his poor attempt at burglary and what ensues is 24 hours of stories shared, arguments lost, and laughter a-plenty.
Two lonely people finding comfort in each other's presence will remind the audience we are all merely human doing the best we can with what we have.

A class to gently encourage and support ourselves to explore our ways of moving and to allow our innate and natural poise to emerge. We shall play and work with everyday movement and movement beyond the everyday. Drawing on inspirations from the Alexander Technique, literature, music, nature, and ourselves we will explore silence, stillness, fast, slow, heavy, light, doing, non-doing, different rhythms, mood and movement, easing into dancing our inner and outer landscapes.
Deirdre studied Theatre and English at California Lutheran University where she was introduced to the Alexander Technique. The emphasis of this class will be on reclaiming, encouraging and nurturing ourselves in stillness and movement. She received her certification at the Alexander Teacher Training Center Oxford, UK.
No experience necessary. Please preregister. Age 18+
