Young artists are invited to hone their drawing skills with instructor Jason Correia in this 8-week skill-building course. Students will sharpen their observational skills while becoming more confident in their drawing abilities. Each class will focus on a still life that all will draw from. Each session will begin with a short demonstration, followed by dedicated drawing time from the still life, during which each student will receive one-on-one feedback. Students will cover gesture drawing, contour drawing, value, and mark-making, giving students a full range of drawing techniques using different media, such as graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, and ink. This course is perfect for setting a solid foundation in drawing techniques that can enhance art skills in other media.

This course will be held weekly from 4-5:30 pm on Thursdays, March 5- April 30 (skipping April 2 for Spring Break), in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at 111 E. Broadway, Mount Pleasant, MI.

Join instructor Penny Leathley for an exploration of fused glass. To commemorate the emergence of spring, students will select from floral forms, colorful rods & frits, and utilize simple snipping tools on glass to create beautiful and functional miniature artworks. All supplies will be provided to create two small hanging suncatchers or ornaments, and projects will be fired off-site to be picked up at a later date. Take this opportunity to explore a new medium and begin your journey in fused glass!

This class is for the beginner cookier, those wondering about what cookie decorating is all about, and those looking for a fun activity. If you have limited experience with sugar cookies or find yourself frustrated with royal icing, this is the class for you!

This set is centered around adorable April showers-themed cookies that taste amazing and will look even better once you have completed your decorating.

Ginger of Ginger’s Cookie Jar provides everything you need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your fabulous creations home in - we just need YOU!

This workshop will be held from 3:30-5:30 pm on Saturday, April 25, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant. Registration MUST be completed by 5 pm, Friday, April 18, and refunds are not available for cancellations after that time.

Explore the unique properties of cold wax as we use experimentation to create abstract art. Cold wax has a soft, paste-like consistency, great for creating luminous layers and building texture. We will include mark making techniques to add depth and dimension to your art.

This workshop caters to a wide range of skill levels, from absolute beginners to experienced artists. With Kristianne Tefft, award winning encaustic artist.

Join instructor Matthew Grimmer for a 2-session crash course in charcoal drawing. Students will learn the basics of building up a drawing using the properties unique to the medium. Students will learn to draw from life using a still-life setup by the instructor. In the first session, we focus on building loosely and identifying shapes and measurements early on, to establish a strong base for the second session. Here, we will finish our drawing by learning techniques such as line weight, shading, and creating an illusion of depth. This workshop is ideal for anyone looking to explore a new medium or learn to draw from life.

Who doesn’t love to dance? This low-key class taught by local choreographer Kelli Jolly is designed for adults ages 18 and up! A flexible schedule allows you to drop in whenever you want.

Appropriate for ALL levels, from experienced dancer to complete beginner – the class is about having fun and enjoying the rhythm without any pressure.

Classes are 90 minutes and consist of a warmup, skills across the dance floor, and a combination.

Celebrate this spring with color, creativity, and a flock of feathered inspiration! Led by instructor Cheryl Meyer, you’ll focus on capturing the charm, movement, and personality of birds through expressive painting techniques. Each week in this 4-session course will feature a different warbler, and this class will guide you in bringing them to life on paper.

Perfect for beginner to intermediate artists, we’ll explore watercolor fundamentals such as wet-on-wet, layering, and texture while also learning how to sketch dynamic bird forms, render feathers, and create harmonious backgrounds. This series helps build your skills and confidence in watercolor.
