The final report on alternatives to Enbridge’s Line 5 in the Straits of Mackinac was released two weeks ago. Now, state officials have announced public feedback sessions.

Just last week Enbridge agreed to shut down Line 5 in inclement weather. The state is in the process of hiring two people to oversee ongoing studies on the line.

Now, the state has announced three public comment sessions beginning this week to allow people to suggest what steps the state should take next.

Meetings are scheduled in Taylor Wednesday, and St. Ignace and Traverse City next week.

  • Taylor: Wednesday, Dec. 6, beginning at 6 p.m., Heinz C. Prechter Educational and Performing Arts Center, Wayne County Community College District, Downriver Campus, 21000 Northline.

  • St. Ignace: Tuesday, Dec. 12, beginning at 6 p.m., Little Bear East Arena, 275 Marquette St.

  • Traverse City: Wednesday, Dec. 13, beginning at 6 p.m., West Bay Beach Holiday Inn Resort, Leelanau Banquet Rooms, 615 E. Front St.
