A new study which found Flint, Saginaw, and Detroit were among the most dangerous cities in the country didn’t use recent crime statistics, according to Flint officials.

The report from Alarm.org ranked Flint, Detroit, and Saginaw among the ten most dangerous cities in America, ranking them 5th, 6th, and 7th respectively.

Study authors used data from FBI reports between 2010 and 2014, the most recently available crime statistics from the bureau’s website.

But a spokesperson for Flint Mayor Karen Weaver pointed out that data masks positive trends in the city since 2014.
