WCMU Launches Warm Hearts, Warm Homes

WCMU Public Radio's sixth annual Warm Hearts, Warm Homes campaign is now underway! CLICK HERE TO DONATE NOW.

We're fueling home-heating assistance programs across central and northern Michigan. Consumers Energy and Isabella Bank are matching WCMU listener donations up to $65,000 during this year’s campaign, which concludes on November 25.

The arrival of winter snow and cold is inevitable, and for many of us reaching for the thermostat is a reflex. It’s important to remember some Michigan families struggle with the choice to turn up the heat for any number of reasons, like an unexpected car repair or illness.

WCMU listeners can leverage support for these families by doing something familiar, supporting access to quality news and music programming. When a listener donates to WCMU during Warm Hearts, Warm Homes they trigger matching funds from Consumers Energy and Isabella Bank. The matching funds will be distributed to families in need of home-heating assistance by the Michigan Community Action agency serving the listener’s community.

Over a quarter million dollars in matching funds have been distributed to those in need of home-heating assistance through the first five years of Warm Hearts, Warm Homes.

From Nov. 21 to Nov. 25, they are matching contributions to WCMU, and sending those matching funds to Michigan Community Action to support home heating assistance funds in your community!
