Homespun

On the next Edition of Homespun, we’ll dive into the Music Library and sample early sides from 5-stringer Butch Robins, Larry Sparks, and a Peter Rowan/Tony Rice release! We’ll also get our Western Swing fix with Billy Jack Wills and his Western Swing Band, and we’ll hear the title track from the new Lumineers record! Tune in Sunday at 3PM!

…These Cold Winter days bring warm ( and sometimes HOT!) new music to Homespun this week! Tracks from Ashby Frank, Town Mountain, Chris Coole, The Burnt Pines, and Frank Solivan should put warmth to those bones! Tune in Sundays at 3PM and take the chill off!

…This week on Homespun, we re-visit two volumes of the Bluegrass Album Band series, the original Flatt & Scruggs version of “Foggy Mountain Breakdown” from 1949, and some middle 40’s piano from Big Maceo Merriweather. We’ll also hear a rare acoustic side from James Cotton & Elvin Bishop, and we go Honky Tonkin’ with Rodney & Emmylou! Tune in Sundays at 3PM!!

….Bill Monroe could be one of the great creators of American Music. On the next Homespun, you’ll hear his influence on Del McCoury, Dave Evans, Frank Solivan, Riley Puckett, and others! We’ll also celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Kathleen Edwards debut album “Failer”, and pay one more tribute to the late Ian Tyson. Tune in Sundays at 3PM!

…The Holiday Season is upon us, and on Homespun this week we’ll sample holiday fare with Becky Buller, and Williamson Branch! We’ll also hear from Big Mon-Bill Monroe, along with Ricky Skaggs, and finish off with Tracy Nelson, Kennedy Rose, plus Freddy & Francine! Tune in Sundays at 3 PM!

On this week’s edition of Homespun, we live the traditions of Longview, Flatt & Scruggs, plus Patty Larkin, and we celebrate the life and sound of musician and songwriter Pete Sutherland, who passed on to the other side recently.
