A bill to expand parole opportunities to more of Michigan’s medically frail inmates is on its way to Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

It’s been more than a year since a teenager killed four people and injured seven others at Oxford High School. He pleaded guilty to all of the 24 charges against him.

A bipartisan package of bills could offer some inmates an earlier release or parole date.
