Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Central Michigan University opened its doors for both campus and Mount Pleasant community members for its Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service event. While sharing brunch, guests were treated to performances from CMU musicians and remarks from speakers across campus in honor of King's legacy.

Michigan politicians appeared in Lansing Monday to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. at a memorial luncheon.

Architect Marshall Purnell has been recognized around the globe for his work and is considered one of the most accomplished architects in America today, but the Grand Rapids native says his role in the creation of Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington D.C. is his most memorable project.
