Ferris State University is now the eighth school to provide students with up to $10,000 toward their education if they agree to work in under-served communities across the state after they graduate.

Students majoring in social work will be eligible for $5,000 per semester due to a new program funded by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed a bi-partisan bill on July 11 that expands eligibility requirements for guardians of children within the Tribal community to receive financial assistance.
