Clark Township passed a temporary moratorium on cryptocurrency mining, following complaints from residents in the region who say a bitcoin mining farm is too loud and disrupting kids from learning in neighboring Dafter Township.

Lake Superior Academy of Dafter Township sued Odessa Partners, the owners of the mine, alleging the noise from the mine is disrupting learning. Odessa counter sued in federal court to remove a restraining order.

A school in the eastern UP is holding off on an expansion project to build two new classrooms and welcome 40 new students because of noise pollution from a nearby bitcoin mining farm. Residents are calling for the facility to shut up or shut down and move.
