Republican State Representative is disciplined for making threatening comments

A Republican State Representative has been disciplined for making threatening comments. Gary Eisen is supporting a group looking to stop Michigan’s electoral college vote.

Threats have forced the closure of the State Capitol in Lansing, where Democrats will officially affirm the state’s 16 electoral college votes for Joe Biden. Speaking on WPHM in Port Huron, Representative Eisen says he worked with a group to disrupt the vote… but plans may have changed due to the closure.
“So if they do that today, then we're simply going to move our event to a different location and proceed with what we're going to do today.”
Eisen says he could not say whether or not the planned action would be violent, and was vague on details.
“It'll be all over the news later on.”
House Speaker Republican Lee Chatfield removed Eisen from committee assignments through the end of the year and reaffirmed that Biden beat Donald Trump in Michigan fairly.
Eisen has since changed his mind about joining the protest. Saying “I want to assure everyone that those of us who are supporting an alternative slate of electors intend to do so peacefully and legally, I no longer plan to go to the Capitol with that group today.”
