Michigan health officials say it’s possible that the new COVID-19 coronaviru will disrupt daily life in the state.

Michigan has yet to confirm a case. But federal experts say the U-S is likely to see outbreaks of the disease. Lynn Sutfin  is a spokeswoman for Michigan’s health department. Sutfin urges people to think about what they would do if their child’s school or daycare closed. The virus could also affect the workplace.

"Businesses might want to start thinking about, is there an opportunity for individuals to telecommute if we start seeing illnesses, to try to stop the spread of that within their company?"

Sutfin said the state is revisiting plans from the swine flu pandemic of 2009…as it prepares for the coronavirus
