Juke Joint - 12/06/2020

This week on "The Juke Joint" broadcast Robert Barclay played a set of tunes about cars by Lightnin' Hopkins, Sonny Boy Williamson and Chuck Berry and played some new CDs by Erin Harpe, Bob Corritore and Sonny Green. He also shared details about an award that Sugar Pie DeSanto is receiving, he noted the passing of Spencer Davis and celebrated the birthdays of Big Mama Thornton, Tom Waits and Guitar Slim.

Robert Barclay launched "The Juke Joint" broadcast on WCMU in April 1985. It has been a Sunday night fixture from 8:00-11:00 pm ever since. A devoted listener dubbed him the "Duke of Juke." He includes nearly a century's worth of blues history on his program including traditional and contemporary blues along with boogie woogie, soul music, rhythm & blues, zydeco and gospel music.
