The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is expanding the number of residents that qualify for inoculations.

Starting March 8th, residents 50-years and older with pre-existing conditions can start being vaccinated. On March 22nd, everyone older than 50 will be eligible.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer continued to urge patience on Tuesday.

“We are headed in the right direction. And we just ask that people remain patient as we work around the clock to get more shots in arms, and that we redouble our efforts towards staying safe in the interim.”

The move comes the same week the state is receiving nearly 500-thousand doses.
