There was another rally Thursday at the state Capitol to protest Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s continued use of emergency powers to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Car horns beeped, the sky occasionally thundered and there were downpours. The Michigan State Police estimate 2-to-300 people showed up.

Bruce Langlois of Lowell says he came because he wants to re-open his dog kennel and grooming business. His dog, Porter, wore a sign.

“He says let me go to doggie day care and let me get my hair cut.”

There were also pro-Trump and anti-abortion demonstrators.

Some people carried guns and a lot of people did NOT wearing face coverings.

Governor Whitmer says gatherings like this threaten to cause a spike in infections and prolong the crisis.
