A southeast Michigan business woman has announced she will run for the GOP nomination for the U.S. Senate next year.

Lena Epstein made the announcement Monday. The 35-year-old co-owns Vesco Oil Corporation, which distributes automotive and industrial lubricants. She also served as co-chair of President Donald Trump’s campaign in Michigan last year.

If she wins the GOP nomination, she will challenge longtime Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow in the general election.

Epstein has already gone on the attack against Stabenow. In a post on Facebook, Epstein said Stabenow has quote “failed the people of Michigan after almost two decades in Washington with no major accomplishments.”

Several other Republicans are also said to be considering a run for senate, including U.S. Representative Fred Upton.
