Host and Marketing RepresentativeTom Ball is the host of 'Homespun' on WCMU, and is also a marketing representative for the station. He is responsible for securing program sponsorships for both WCMU Public Radio and WCMU Public Television.
Tom has been married for nearly 20 years to his lovely and talented wife Diana. They have one cat, and a yard full of beautiful flowers (no thanks to him!). Tom has been associated with WCMU for over 35 years, doing everything from fundraising, to filling in for vacationing staff members, to even taking out the trash!

…50 years ago, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band merged Rock and Country together, serving as a catalyst across several generations. On the next Homespun, we’ll hear tracks from their “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” album along with the debut album from The Grascals, Pharis and Jason Romero, and Lyle Lovett’s self-titled debut from 1986! ..Bluegrass giants Jimmy Martin and Ralph Stanley met up at the Bluegrass Festival in 1979, sang some songs live that day, and decided to make a record! We’ll hear some of those recordings, along with live music from Newport 1965, Down From the Mountain at the Ryman, and celebrate the life of Jim Schwall of the Siegel-Schwall Band.
