
Mike Horace
Radio Program and Operations ManagerMike Horace is WCMU's Radio Program and Operations Manager.
Mike worked at WCMU as a student reporter in the late-2000s, and was hired full time by the station in April, 2012. He began as a general assignment reporter, and eventually began anchoring middays, delivering news and information during 'The Takeaway.'
In October, 2015, Mike became the local host of NPR's award-winning news magazine 'Morning Edition.' And in September, 2018, he became radio Program and Operations Manager for WCMU. In this role, he helps keep WCMU on the air 24/7. Mike stepped down as host of Morning Edition in December, 2022, in order to focus on his Program and Operations Manager responsibilities.
Mike sits on the Board of Directors for HostCon Fund, a non-profit organization that facilitates training and professional development opportunities for local hosts at NPR member stations around the country.
He is also a loyal Red Wings, Tigers and Lions fan, and is WCMU's in-house weather and political junkie.
