Transit services are shifting into high gear for the holiday season.

Amtrak is preparing for a large number of riders during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Spokesman Marc Magliari says riders who haven’t already bought tickets should be flexible with their schedules.

“There are six trains today...three each way...and most of them are sold out for Thanksgiving Eve. And we expect it to be as busy or busier this coming Sunday...which will be the busiest single travel day this season.” :12

Magliari says each train carries between 450 to 500 riders. He says he expects Amtrak to have consistent ridership until Monday.
