Ford is recalling more than 550-thousand trucks and SUVs in North America because of faulty seat backs.
The recall includes certain F-150 pickups and Super Duty trucks, as well as Explorer and Expedition SUVs from the 2018 through 2020 model years.
All have manual driver or front passenger seat-back recliner mechanisms.
Ford says seat backs in the vehicles may not properly restrain passengers during a crash.
The automaker says the trucks may not have a sufficient number of a component needed for seat strength…increasing the risk of injury in a crash. Ford says it doesn't know of any accidents or injuries related to the issues.
Dealers will inspect seat structures and replace them if needed.
Owners will be notified by mail starting October 7th.
