This week on "The Juke Joint" broadcast, Robert Barclay noted the passing of 99-year-old Henry "Gip" Gipson, the owner of Gip's Place, a popular juke joint that has been open since 1952 in Bessemer, Alabama. He played recordings by some of Gip's favorites: John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Lightnin' Hopkins, Slim Harpo and Bobby Rush. He also noted the centennial of the birth of blues singer Crown Prince Waterford.
