Mid Michigan group hosts music therapy professor

What is Music Therapy?  Who might benefit from it?  Professor Ed Roth is the Director of Music Therapy at Western Michigan University.  He will discuss the field and its applications in a talk “Of Molecules and Melodies: The Neurochemistry of Music” this Saturday in Coleman.  The event is presented by the Midland Section of the American Chemical Society and Faith United Methodist Church.  Professor Roth talked about the history and latest trends in music therapy with David Nicholas, host of Mosaic.

Professor Roth will be joined by local musicians for the event, part of the Concerts in Coleman Series at Faith United Methodist Church.  Doors open at 5:30 and the event begins at 6.  Admission is free.  The church is located at 209 E. Jefferson in Coleman, at the corner of Fifth and Jefferson.

The Midland Section of the American Chemical Society is an underwriter of WCMU Public Radio.

David Nicholas is WCMU's local host of All Things Considered.
