Many lakes across the Upper Peninsula have had changes made to their trout fishing regulations, according to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

Four lakes made modifications, including High Banks in Chippewa County, Moon Lake in Luce County, and South Kidney and Strawberry Lakes in Marquette. All allow for more fishing opportunities, including High Banks Lake's expansion to year-round fishing.

The majority of the changes also allow for a lower minimum size limit and an increase in daily possession.

Four bodies of water in Alger and Marquette counties had all restrictions removed; Brians Pond, Sawaski Pond, Cedar Lake, and Section 13 Lake.

The changes went into effect on Oct. 10.

More information on fishing regulations can be found through the DNR's Hunt Fish mobile app.
