Former President Donald Trump will be speaking at Saginaw Valley State University on Thursday. The visit will mark the 11th Michigan trip of the campaign for the Republican nominee.

Michigan is a key battleground state in this year’s race for the White House. Saginaw County is a crucial bellwether. Trump won the county in 2016 by 1.1%, or 1,073 votes. President Joe Biden took the county in 2020 by .03%, winning by 303 votes.

In addition, the county is home to a toss-up race for the U.S. House of Representatives. Republican Paul Junge and Democrat Kristen McDonald Rivet are running to replace Democratic Representative Dan Kildee for Michigan 8th Congressional district seat, which represents the cities of Saginaw, Midland, Bay City and Flint.

Trump’s opponent Vice President Kamala Harris will be speaking in Flint on Friday.

Doors open for the Trump event at 11:00 a.m., with Trump giving remarks at 3:00 p.m.
