MyMichigan Health has acquired Gratiot Family Practice, a primary care clinic stationed less than a mile from their Alma medical center.
The acquisition is set to finalize on October 28. At that time the practice will take up the name MyMichigan Family Medicine. Under the new ownership, patient's medical records will be absorbed by the medical group to be used with all MyMichigan services across the state. This will be used to ensure better, more streamlined care for all patients, according to MyMichigan.
Along with the practice, MyMichigan will take control of its connected x-ray services. They have confirmed that once finalized these services will still be available and open to the public, even if they are not MyMichigan patients.
MyMichigan is working with the practice to help make the transition over to the new system as seamless as they can for patients and staff alike, such as keeping the same office number for the time being.
Editor's note: WE note that MyMichigan Health is a sponsor of WCMU. We report on them as we do with any other organization.
