The University of Michigan says graduate student instructors who continue to strike, will be replaced.
The university warned graduate student instructors and staff assistants Monday via email. Telling them to fulfill teaching responsibilities without disruptions this fall... or be replaced for the rest of the semester.
Lina Alam [LEEN-uh ALL-em] is a graduate student representing the Graduate Employees Union. She says her initial reaction to this was anger and disappointment.
Alam said, "I do think that what these emails show is that the University of Michigan is incredibly afraid of a Fall strike. And that our power continues to grow, and they're afraid of that as well."
This warning comes during ongoing contract disputes between the university and G-E-O.
