Ingham County’s Prosecutor is charging a Detroit resident for alleged crimes related to the disappearance of 2 year old Wynter Cole Smith. Authorities are continuing the search for the missing child.

26 year old Rashad Trice was arraigned Wednesday on multiple charges including assault with intent to murder and two counts of criminal sexual conduct.

Wynter’s mother told the Lansing Police Department Trice assaulted her Sunday and then took her daughter and her car. Trice was arrested yesterday but Wynter was not with him.

Lansing police have partnered with the FBI in their efforts to locate the girl. The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for any information that can help in the search. Wynter is a Black child with braided hair who was last seen wearing a white shirt with rainbows.

So far, searchers have concentrated on stretches of I-96 between Lansing and Detroit.
