Stabbing turned into child abduction in Lansing

Police and federal agents remain looking for Wynter Cole-Smith, a 2 year old girl, abducted from Lansing late Sunday night.

Rashad Trice allegedly stabbed the girl’s mother, then took off with the toddler. Trice was arrested in St. Clair Shores on Monday, but he didn’t have Cole-Smith with him. Lansing police Chief

Ellery Sosebee says officers are looking across a wide area to find the child.

“...canine searches, drones, multiple helicopter searches with heat signature technology and our dive team which is our scuba team in the area with no success so far. Our partner teams in Detroit have investigated known associates, who frequent addresses related to the accused” said Sosebee

Police have released the route Trice took to Metro Detroit and are asking the public to check home security cameras to see if the Impala he was driving shows up. Trice is known to have driven through Detroit and Hamtramck. He remains hospitalized for injuries sustained trying to elude capture.
