Michigan is wrapping up a four-year-old lawsuit against Walgreens Pharmacy over its alleged role in the state’s opioid [OH-pee-oyd] troubles.

Between a multi-state deal and a new agreement between Walgreens and Michigan, the state is set to receive over 330-million-dollars across the next 18 years.

In a video announcement… Attorney General Dana Nessel said it’s “rewarding” to hold distributors accountable.

Nessel says, "While there is no amount of money that can bring back the thousands of people who have died from opioid use disorder, or ease the pain of the families impacted by them, this is an important victory in a hard-fought battle that will help save Michigan lives."

Walgreens is not admitting guilt or wrongdoing as part of the settlements.

Michigan has previously reached deals in opioid-related lawsuits against companies like Walmart… C-V-S Pharmacy… and Johnson and Johnson.
