Taylor Swift returns to Detroit, BBB issues warnings on ticket scams

Taylor Swift fans, better known as Swifties, are gearing up for her return to Ford Field in Detroit this weekend for her Era’s Tour.

However, some Swifties who are trying to get last minute tickets might want to watch out for scammers.

Tickets to see the pop star are selling for as high as $2,000 with some tickets even surpassing $5,000 on reputable sites. The high cost is pushing people to go to third parties which is leading to scams.

The Better Business Bureau has issued a warning to people trying to buy tickets after it received numerous reports from fans who were scammed.

The group told fans to look out for fake websites, look at the reviews of the website you are buying from and avoid places such as Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace when looking for tickets.

Another tip the BBB said is if the seller is using low prices and high pressure when selling tickets, it could be a sign that the deal is too good to be true. The scammers know that fans are eager to get tickets and could rush the process.
