Michigan economic and higher education leaders are joining forces to build up the state’s semi-conductor industry workforce. The Semiconductor Talent Action Team aims to increase the number of computer and electrical engineers, processing technicians and maintenance and repair workers.

Kerry Ebersole Singh is with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

“Michigan is among the first states in the nation to have created an all-hands-on deck consortium.” said Singh.

Officials hope to use the MEDC program to be able to leverage some of the tens of billions of dollars in federal semi-conductor manufacturing incentives.
