Detroit Lions wide receiver Quintez Cephus is one of five NFL players suspended for violating the league's gambling policy.

The National Football League is suspending five players for violating its policy on gambling. Four of those players are with the Detroit Lions.

The N-F-L suspended three players indefinitely – two Detroit Lions and one member of the Washington Commanders – who reportedly bet on pro football games…something the league strictly prohibits.

A review found the players did not use inside information to make the bets. Detroit immediately released the players involved.

Two other Lions received six-game suspensions for gambling on non-N-F-L sports while at a team facility.

That includes Jameson Williams – a college superstar recovering from a knee injury…who was set to be a key part of Detroit’s team this year.

The N-F-L itself has reached lucrative partnership agreements with several sports betting organizations.
