“Right to Work” currently stops workplaces from making the payment of some union dues a condition of employment.
Its repeal has been on the Democratic wish list since it passed in 2012.
Democratic Representative Jim Haadsma chairs the House Labor Committee. He says the bill is moving quickly so it can get to the governor's desk before lawmakers take their spring break.
"I don't think that any perception of protest or any effort to stifle protest has anything to do with that alacrity with which we're going forward."
Republicans say repealing right to work would make Michigan less attractive to businesses.
