Michigan Congressman Jack Bergman (R-MI) has joined 27 other members of the House to form the “Northern Border Security Caucus.”
The group will push for legislation to increase security measures on the U.S-Canada borde
r—the longest international border.
In a statement, Bergman said the Biden administration has failed to enforce security against drug trafficking and illegal crossings along the northern border and says the caucus will allow Congress to identify problems before they “get out of control.”
House Republicans make up the rest of the group. It is headed by Reps. Mike Kelly (R-PA) and Ryan Zinke (R-MT).
