Dixon, Michigan GOP leadership at odds following election loss

Tensions among Michigan Republicans are starting to show after the party's losses on Election Day.

A recent memo from the party's chief of staff pointed to gubernatorial nominee Tudor Dixon’s relatively low name recognition, fundraising struggles, and messaging as factors in the defeat.

Republican strategist Jason Roe says he found it to be a sober assessment.

“She came out weak, she didn’t have any money, she didn’t have any infrastructure. And that’s not her fault. She didn’t have the resources to build the campaign infrastructure.” said Roe.

On Twitter, Dixon accused party leadership of fighting against her while putting the entire ticket at risk.

In a statement, the author of the GOP memo says the party's leadership “did nothing but stand with" Dixon.
